Automation Engineer -Atlas Core of Engineers

Position:

Atlas has an immediate opening for a full-time Automation Engineer.  The ideal candidate must be able to work independently remotely with minimal supervision and is capable of adapting quickly across job functions and responsibilities. We are looking for a candidate who has willingness to learn. Atlas employees benefit from flexible hours and working locations. Up to 50% travel. Ideal candidate will live in the western United States. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and have a stable work history. Sponsorship is not available. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.


Required Skills:

  1. Siemens PCS7,

  2. Siemens TIA Portal

  3. Understanding of ProfiBus

  4. Understanding of IP based networks

  5. Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools, such as electrical multi-meters

  6. Experience with HMI design using WinCC or FactoryTalk View or Wonderware

  7. Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written

  8. Minimum of 5 years of automations and controls experience

  9. Design and development of automation systems unassisted or within a team to achieve desired production targets.

  10. Test, troubleshoot, modify and maintain automation systems.

  11. Write automation and computer software programs as necessary.

  12. Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.

  13. Able to read and interpret technical documentation (P&IDs, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc.).


Preferred Skills:

  1. ePlan

  2. AutoCAD

  3. Experience commissioning VFDs

  4. Control panel design and build experience

  5. P&ID generation and modification

  6. Experience with Moor APACS

  7. Allan Bradly PLC and HMI programming

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
